21 songs that will make you excited to study wrapped up in a thick blanket

To many, including me, fall is synonymous with the return of studying. Working on computer science, math, and philosophy can get very tedious very quickly so, to make studying more exciting, I listen to music. Depending on the task I’m completing I’ll listen to different genres. If it’s coding, I can get by with something more rhythmic like soft techno. If I’m typing something up, classical music or soundtracks are perfect. And if I’m in my serious study mode, I listen to ambient background sounds like white or brown noise.
If music isn’t for you, then I recommend the app “Noise Machine” to get unique ambient background noises like rain, birds, café, and many more. I’m also a big fan of going to YouTube to get several hours of study music or background noises while studying. McGonagall’s Pomodoro study session by ASMR Weekly and library study ambience are my favourites.
I know I’m not the only one that likes to listen to music while studying. So, I curated a special playlist with a special autumn atmosphere. It’s called “U of T Autumn 2023” on Spotify. As it gets colder and the leaves change colour, an appropriate instrument to match the atmosphere is the piano. Most of the pieces in the playlist include some piano since it’s fall-themed. The Skyrim soundtrack is also very atmospheric and matches the season very well! One of my favourite soundtracks ever, especially the piece “Skyrim Atmospheres”.
With this playlist, it’s definitely going to be your year. I hope you feel on top of your studies while listening to it. Good luck!
