Here is what is going on this week at SMC

During March, the SMC Dean’s Office and student clubs are hosting a wide variety of events. All of these can be found on the student life calendar on the SMC website. To stay informed on all the events happening on campus, sign up for the Campus Life Newsletter. Here are five events to look forward to in March:
- Celtic Studies Course Union Trivia
On Friday, March 15th the CSCU is trivia night from 6-8 pm in the COOP. There are prizes available for the winning team. This event is open to everyone. The event looks to be a great night with interesting questions about Celtic Studies. More information can be found on the CSCU Instagram page @celticstudiesuoft.
- Ramadan Iftar Space
From March 9th to April 10th SMC is providing a space for those in the SMC community to break their fast and pray. BR115b is reserved from 7-9 pm daily. Water and dates will be available. If the space is locked, security can be reached to unlock it at 416-926-2099.
- PrideSMC Drag Brunch
PrideSMC is hosting a Drag Brunch featuring Rosie and Angëll Morana on March 8th at 3 pm in Father Madden Hall. For UofT Students tickets are $5 and non-UofT student tickets are $10. Tickets are selling fast, to get yours check out @Pridesmc on Instagram as well as scanning the QR code on posters around Brennan Hall.
- Hiring Opportunites
Orientation, Mentorship, and The Mike are hiring for the 2024-25 school year! For orientation, Marshal applications are due March 8th and leader/mentor leader applications are due on March 29th. More information about Orientation hiring can be found on their Instagram @smc_orientation. In addition to mentor applications, mentorship is hiring senior mentors. The applications are due on March 17th and information can be found on their Instagram @st.mikesmentorship. Finally, The Mike election period has begun! Nominations are due on March 15th and the voting period is from March 20th to March 25th. Information can be found on the website readthemike.com and Instagram @smc.themike.
- SMC Grow Week 2024
SMC is hosting Grow Week from March 11th to March 14th with a wide variety of events. Events include: “Elevate Your Academic Game Lunch and Workshop” on March 11th at 2 pm in BR115b, “Cardio Dance Party” on March 13th from 4-5 pm in Charbonnel Lounge, “Paint and Sip” on March 13th from 2-4 pm in the COOP, and “Escape Room” at Enigman Escape on March 14th from 6-7 pm. Tickets are required for the Escape Room. More information and sign-up forms can be found on the @ustmikesstudents Instagram page.
