Has your adulthood rendered you ineligible for trick-or-treating? Has cold, damp, and stormy weather kept you inside for years? Despite being too old to trick-or-treat, there are still plenty of spooky-filled activities you can do in the heart of Toronto or from the comfort of your home.
Stay-at-Home, Laid-Back Halloween Ideas:
Host a pumpkin carving contest as one of your group’s more conventional activities. Beware, some not-so-friendly competition may arise! All you’ll need are a few store-bought pumpkins, some cutting supplies, and whatever decorations you desire, such as paint, string lights, cobwebs, and glitter.
Put on your coziest pajamas, gather your fluffiest blankets, find a seat on the couch and have a Halloween movie marathon night, all while the classic Pillsbury Halloween cookies are baking in the oven. While sites such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ have many movies, cable channels such as Fox Family, SHOWTIME, and HBO play the classics all night long. Friday the 13th or Scream anyone? Who doesn’t love a night in?
If you still want to immerse yourself in the nostalgic childhood Halloween experience, grab a jacket and take an evening stroll through any neighborhood. Admire all the costumes, decorated houses, and children running from the frightening yard decor.
Adventurous Halloween-Themed Experiences:
If you’re in the mood for a ghoulish adventure, Canada’s Wonderland’s Halloween Haunt is the perfect adventure for you. This frightful, charismatic amusement park located in Vaughan, Ontario returns for another year with the spookiest haunted houses, night strolls, and terrifying decor. This is the perfect opportunity to test your scare abilities whether it’s on action-packed rides, watching a live show, or running from frightening actors. This attraction site is continuously known to make even the bravest of people cave year after year!
In the mood to explore a haunted castle? Casa Loma, one of Toronto’s historic landmarks, is hosting Legends of Horror, an interactive theatre event. This mesmerizing and captivating auditorium experience includes an hour trail in which you are exposed to numerous chambers, tunnels, and set designs in the dark, dreary underground of the castle. This would be a great way to spend time with your friends and have a good laugh!
